How I came across the LRC Product Line
Originally, I was introduced to LRC while at an event in Los Angeles. The event was targeting young professionals in the entertainment industry and was a great opportunity to network while sipping on mimosas and grubbing on brunch. LRC was a vendor at the brunch along with a bunch of other wonderful companies! I live in NYC and was in Los Angeles for the weekend but unfortunately didn’t have much product with me. I packed a little too last minute and didn’t have many travel sized products on hand. I wanted something to condition my hair and instantly locked my little Bambi eyes on the “Shake & Go” Leave-in Detangling Spray. I loved that the bottle was a spray bottle and the fragrance was to delish. I love a soft scent for my curls sometimes. It’s always nice when people tell your how good your hair smells! Secret love potion ;P
I used the product and loved it so much so, that when I got to NYC I decided to look into the rest of the line.
The products pictured above include the following:
- Total Moisture Sulfate Free Shampoo
- Complete Cleanse Shampoo
- The Potion, Advanced Protein Conditioner
- Leave-in Conditioner
- Shake & Go Leave-in Detangling Spray
- Bling, High Shine Polishing Mist
- Hair Polish, Taming Anti-frizz Serum
My wash day process using LRC products
I shampoo’d using the Cleansing shampoo as I wanted to clean my hair and scalp thoroughly to prevent any product build up. I found as I rinsed out the shampoo that my hair felt a little bit straw-like but it did wash out easily and left my scalp and hair clear of product build up or residue.
Next I applied The Potion Advanced Protein Conditioner and left it on for 10 minutes. I recently learned from Mo of MoKnowsHair.com that leaving a hair mask on longer than the recommended time (especially over nigh) doesn’t necessarily leave your hair more conditioned and, if it is protein heavy, could actually over process your hair. Good to keep in mind!
I detangled my hair using my Tangle Teezer while the product was in my hair to help distribute it more evenly. I also massaged the product into my scalp as recommended in the product directions. My hair was pretty soft and manageable! Again no residue when I rinsed it out.
To wet hair I applied the Leave-in Conditioner and the Hair Taming Anti-frizz Serum. I worked the products into my hair and used my Tangle Teezer to even out areas where the product was too thick. Then I sprayed my beloved Shake & Go on the ends for added moisture.
Now I could have left my hair to air dry but its winter time here in NYC and I didn’t want cold hair. Plus I love volume so I pulled out my diffuser and blow dried my hair on cool for about 20 minutes. I fluffed my roots a little with a wide tooth comb and then sprayed the Bling High Shine Polishing Mist.
My Results?
Fluffly, loose, flexible, heavenly scented and heavily moisturized curls!
I highly recommend trying LRC if you’re looking for lighter products and prefer environmentally conscious brands. My favourite products from the line are the Shake & Go and the Potion Advanced Protein Conditioner.
