TRAVEL: MANDARIN ORIENTAL HOTEL, ATLANTA REVIEW

VISIT ATLANTA

On our agenda for the weekend was hosting the Atlanta stop on our Femme in Bloom: Travel Love Grow brunch tour, attending the Black Women’s Expo with My Black is Beautiful, and checking out the groovy music performances for A3C, a music showcase held in Atlanta every year featuring up and coming artists. Clearly, we had a full weekend!

We booked our stay at the Mandarin Oriental because we needed somewhere centrally located that also featured some of our favourite amenities like a gym, a pool, and free wifi. Although neither myself or Jess had stayed with the Mandarin Oriental prior to this trip, upon arriving to the hotel, we instantly new we made the right decision. The balance of character, charm, luxury, and fabulousness was just perfect. Plus, to our delight, during our 6 am check in we spied complimentary coffee in the lobby! Already I could hear DJ Khaled singing “All I do is win win win no matter what”.

HOTEL EXPERIENCE

The hotel staff gave our sleepless and delusional selves a wonderfully warm welcome making us feel right at home. We left our bags with the front desk and took a smooth ride to the 11th floor, where we found our double room with a bathroom fit for a queen. Yesssssss, finally. A bath tub in a hotel that doesn’t look like it was from the late 80’s. It was so grand and fabulous. The robes and towels were soft and cozy.  Honestly, the room over all was more lovely than we expected, with two plush, queen size beds, a desk, some chairs and a dining table, and even a massive TV that swiveled around for viewing convenience.

We were in and out of the hotel all weekend as you can imagine. During our time there, we received massages in the Spa which literally changed our lives. Their spa experiences are incredible. The space is so clean, peaceful, and has all the little things you expect, from a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi, to mouthwash, toothbrushes, slippers, and more plush robes.  We also enjoyed a delicious lunch from room service our first day, the grilled salmon was superb! And we spent one afternoon working in their cafe/ bar area. The service was quick and attentive and the coffee was delicious.

Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental was better than perfect and this hotel is definitely on the top of the list for places to stay on a trip to Atlanta!
